La Chiesa di "San Carlo Borromeo"
CHIESA DI SAN CARLO BORROMEO
Dalla relazione della Santa Visita di mons. Lelio Brancaccio esperita il 4 maggio 1578 siamo informati che la chiesa Parrocchiale di San Marlano andava sotto il titolo di Santa Venere. Inoltre che "il Capo Altare era sotto certa lamia, elevato sopra tre scalini su cui c'era il tabernacolo dove si conservava il SS. Sacramento in pane fermentato in certa pisside che fu trovata tutta foderata e coperta di carta bianca more graeco.
Il Tabernacolo era senza maschia tura, in una finestra, in un vaso di creta, si conservava il Santo Crisma similmente senza maschiatura. Il presule fu ricevuto da Papa Demetrio Cabascia, prete greco, il quale disse di essere il Rettore Cappellano di questa parrocchia di San Marlano conduttore dei cittadini dello stesso Casale. Asserì di aver egli consacrato il già visitato Sacramento dell' Altare nella Feria II in Coena Domini come solevasi praticare in ogni anno. E soggiunse inoltre che il visitato Santo Crisma era stato consacrato dai Vescovi greci; poiché non si rinnovava da anno in anno, ma solo quando si poteva avere l'opportunità del Vescovo greco. "
Di questa chiesetta attualmente non si conservano segni.
L'attuale, costruita probabilmente nel XVIII secolo presso l'antica cappella, venne dedicata a San Carlo Borromeo come del resto viene ricordato da una lapide.
Presenta un'iconogratia oblunga, com partita in tre navate da agili colonne che poggiano su plinti. La volta dell'aula è piana, mentre quella del presbiterio risulta cupoliforme. Ha subito notevoli rimaneggiamenti e restauri nel XX secolo tra cui la costruzione ex novo dell'altare maggiore in asse con l'ingresso che è stato consacrato, come ricorda una lapide a destra di chi entra, da mons. Guglielmo Motolese, arcivescovo di Taranto, il 4.XII.1978.

Perveç kesaj "Kryetari i Altarit ishte me siguri nje fare kuçedre e ngritur lart tre kembeve te shkalles ne te çilat ishte kisheza me figura shenjtoresh ku ruhej S.S. Shenjteria ne buke te fermentuar ne nje fare piksidi qe u gjet e gjithe ne astar e mbuluar me leter te bardhe e nxire si gale.
Letra ishte e pavulosur, ne nje dritare, ne nje vazo prej balte te bardhe, ruhej Shenjtori Krisma ne te njejten menyre i pavulosur. Ipeshkevi u zgjodh nga Papa Dhimiter Kabaskia, prift grek, ne te çilen thoshte se ishte Rektori Cappllano i kesaj famullie te San Marcanos ishte shoqerues i qytetareve te te njejtit Fshat. Ai ngulmoi t'i kishte kushtuar viziten tashme te bere tek Shenjtorja e Altarit ne Feria Il ne Koena Sunduese eshte sikur te lehtesohej frekuentimi ne çdo viI. perveç vizites se Shenjtorit Krisma eshte shtuar se ka qene i hirezuar nga Ipeshkev greke; meqe nuk zevendesoheshin nga viti ne vit, por vetem kur kishte mundesi Ipeshkevi grek."
Per kete kishez aktualisht nuk ruhen shenja.
Ndertimi ekzistues i mundeshem ne shekullin XVIII perfshi kapelen antike qe i dedikohej Shen Karlo Borromeo siç kujtohet me vone nga nje pllake.
Perfaqeson nje ikonografi gjatoshe e ndare ne tre qoshe te çdo kolone ge mbeshteten ne harkun mbajtès. Kupola e salles eshte e mbeshtetur kurse ajo e presbiterit rezulton e paformuar. Jane bere menjeherè ripunime dhe restaurime me vlere ne shekullin e XX midis te çilave ishin ndertime te reja te altarit te madh ne vazhdim me hyrjen qe ka qene shenjteruar, si kujtim i nje mbishkrimi ne te djathte te hyrjes, nga monsinjor Guljemo Motoleze, arqipeshkv i Tarantos, me 4. XII. 1978.

SAN CARLO BORROMEO'S CHURCH
From the account of monsignor Lelio Brancaccio, dated 4 May 1578, we are informed that the parish church of San Marzano was called "Santa Venere". Moreover, we know that the main altar was under a certain "Iamia", over three steps, where the tabernacle kept the Holy Sacrament (a risen bread in a certain pyx, which has been found covered with a white paper, "more gracco").
The tabernacle was without a tapping, in a window in a clay pat; the Holy Sacrament was likewise kept without a tapping. The prelate was welcomed by Pope Demetrio Cabascia, a Greek priest, who said he was the chaplain of the church in San Marzano. He said he had stili consecrated the Sacrament on the Altar, in "Feria Il in Coenia Domini", as it was usually done every year.
Moreover, he added that the Holy Sacrament had been consecrated by the Greek bishop, as it was not done every year, but only when a Greek bishop was there. Of this ancient church, we have no signs today.
The actual one, probably built in the XVIII century near the ancient Chapel, was dedicated to San Carlo Borromeo, as it is remembered on a memoria I tablet.
The ichnography is oblong, divided into three naves, with agile columns; the ichnography of the presbyter is done-shaped. It has been greatly readapted and restored in the XX century; a new high altar has been built in the direction of the entrance, and has been consecrated, as it is remembered on a plaque on the right side of the entrance, by monsignor Guglielmo Motolese, the archbishop of Taranto, on the 4. XII. 1978
